Gloria Williams is a facialist, skin care specialist, entrepreneur, foodie, and woman of heart behind Soothe Spa.  

Located in St. John’s, Soothe Spa is the eco-conscious, cruelty-free, vegan skincare treatment centre specializing in skincare, esthetics and wellness.  Green Spa certified, Soothe is an Eminence Spa partner, and a retailer of the Eminence Organic Skin Care line.

Gloria says, “Skin is the body's largest organ.  It breathes in the environment - the air, water, products. It’s an essential part of who we are and how we present and interact with the world.  Our skin is a contributor to, and sign of our wellness.  What’s happening in the skin is usually a reflection of what’s happening in the gut biome.  It influences all aspects of our lives.  Skin care is an important part of wellness.”

Gloria says, “Soothe has been in the spa services industry for twenty years.  Helping clients feel great and look great is part of our business model, but it goes much deeper.  At Soothe we specialize in skin health, gut health, and bringing calm to the nervous system for total relaxation.  It’s a quiet, calm, personalized service that restores as well as invigorates.”

Gloria’s passion for skin care and wellness is more than business.   Along with being a facialist, Gloria is certified in whole-food plant-based nutrition and culinary arts, and that interest is her commitment to connecting a healthy body to the skin it's in.  That skill set shows up in many ways, including holistic wellness retreats that Gloria co-hosts in Newfoundland and Labrador, South America, and other destinations.  The retreats are complete with  yoga sessions, nutritionally dense, invigorating whole food plant based menus, and pathway to self-connection.

Soothe Facials

Soothe facials are legendary around St. John’s, and are a sought after experience for visitors.  Gloria says, “Facials assist in stimulation of the blood’s circulation through the entire skin care treatment experience, increasing the skin’s absorption of oxygen.  The focus is on the face and neck, but the whole body benefits.”

Soothe offers a Relaxation Facial, a Detox Facial and gorgeous complementary services like High Frequency Skin Rejuvenation and Arctic Berry Peel.

Soothe Body Treatments

Soothe specialty skincare applies to the body as well as the face.  

Luxurious treatments include the Deluxe Body Wrap - an experience in relaxation, detoxification, rehydration and restoration.  

The process includes a full body scrub, hydrating masque and massage with finishing cream,  customized with products from the Eminence Organics Skincare line.  The delicious sounding menu includes Body Dessert options like the coconut chocolate truffle wrap.

Along with skincare services, Soothe carries and sells products from the Eminence Organic Skin Care line.  In the winter of 2021, Soothe earned Green Spa Certification from Eminence. 

Gloria says, “Our skin is our protector and shield, and it’s also the filter through which things enter our bodies.  Eminence products are free of parabens, animal by-products, and things like propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphates and harsh cosmetic chemicals.  Our bodies don’t need these things in skincare products.  They are also ethically-sourced, solar powered, and use biodynamic farming practices.
