about guide to the good

www.guidetothegood.ca makes it easy for people to choose local, social, and green for their everyday purchasing and lifestyle choices. we built it because local choices build strong, resilient communities. this site is supported by social media channels, outreach, and an amazing collection of people who believe in the power and value of collaboration.

take it from the top! it’s easy, just search for what you want in the search bar, and you can find the stories and contact info for local companies that have just what you’re looking for. you can also find blogs and events.

and, you can browse by theme. if you’re looking to purchase goods, browse the “buy local” section. if you’re looking for a bite to eat or a glass to drink, have a peek at “eat local.” and if you’re looking for a service, or something fun to do, head over to “experience local.”

each theme has categories, which you will find in a box alongside your search results. also, each listing has various attributes, which are icons. here is a list of icons and their corresponding attributes:

if you’re looking for the latest event listings, they’re here too. “spirit connection” connects you to all things spiritual. whether spirituality for you is a church service, a yoga class, or a hike in the woods, this section has you covered. 10,000 seats is your guide to local theatre. and markets will help you find the upcoming local hub for your fresh veggies and handmade goods.

the zero waste hub is your source for tips and tricks on living a zero waste lifestyle, as well as a list of local zero-waste resources.

our stories section contains our rotating series of blogs. there are new ones regularly, so keep checking back for the latest musings from our friends!

community think tank is our montly poll and your opportunity to express your opinion on the subject of the day. we would love to hear from you!
